Meet Peter Kay, one of the World’s Richest Comedians

The Car Share and Comedy Shuffle comedian is one of the most popular entertainers in the UK, but how much money does he have after years in the spotlight?

Peter Kay, 45, is originally from Farnworth in Bolton and is one of the most successful comedians ever to come out of the UK.

Rising to fame in 1996, he is an award-winning stand-up, comedic actor and writer.

He has won BAFTA TV Award for Best Male Comedy Performance, the BAFTA TV Award for Best Scripted Comedy and the National Television Award for Best Comedy for a recent project Car Share.

He also created the Channel 4 sitcom Phoenix Nights, which won the People’s Choice Award at the British Comedy Awards 2002.

Peter is worth an eye-watering $70million – around £53million – according to Celebrity Net Worth.

This is thanks not just to his comedy, but also his film roles.

He has starred in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse.

In November 2017, Peter announced a 25 date tour across the UK, but he was unfortunately forced to cancel in December due to “unforeseen family circumstances”.

He returns to screens tonight with new series Peter Kay’s Comedy Shuffle on ITV.

The programme looks back over his career highlights and is presented by Kay himself.

Peter is not the only British comedian who has enjoyed huge success and the fortune that comes with it.

James Corden, 40, has gone from strength-to-strength, moving to the US in 2015 to present The Late Late Show with James Corden.

The show is a huge hit in the US, featuring James’ famous Carpool Karaoke segment, seeing the comedian take car rides with some of the biggest names in the world.
