HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES APPROVES REPORT ON 500 MILLION DOLLAR COMPLETION FUND FOR AJAOKUTA

The House of Representatives has approved the report of a bill seeking to establish a fund for the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Company.

The plant, which has reached 98 per cent completion, needs up to 500 million dollars to be completed

The report was considered and approved in the Committee of the Whole, making a clear provision that the Federal Government should complete the plant as against the current plan to concession it.

The session was presided over by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.

The bill is now set for third reading, after which it will be sent to the Senate for concurrence.
