President Muhammadu Buhari has promised that his administration would continue to place the nation’s security and national interest above the rule of law.

President Buhari, who made the declaration at the 2018 Annual General Conference of Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Abuja, over the weekend, said his government adopted the stance on the basis of subsisting decisions of the Supreme Court.

The president maintained that individual rights of alleged offenders would not be spared when national security and public interest were threatened.

He said that his administration has learned useful lessons on the dynamism of Nigerian society and as a result, his government needed to deploy the nation’s resources to address her common needs rather than the greed of a callous few.
